Which is more environmentally friendly: polyethylene, paper
Life cycle of polyethylene bags
Life cycle of paper bags
Life cycle of a cotton bag
We've all seen countless stories about plastic garbage islands in the oceans. Many people, after watching such footage, try to abandon plastic bags in favor of textile or paper ones. Yes, plastic really does not decompose like organic materials by rotting. However, with proper disposal, the damage to the environment from synthetic materials is much lower than from the production of natural ones.
If you analyze the production of plastic and natural containers, taking into account the full cycle: from raw materials to the final product, it will become clear that cotton is not as harmless as it seems. To grow a good crop of cotton, you have to resort to the use of fertilizers and pesticides. Its processing requires production facilities that pollute the air and have a high carbon footprint (affecting the ozone layer). A large amount of water is used in the production process.
If plastic is recyclable and can be used as a secondary raw material, cotton and paper bags, in most cases, do not have a second life. In the best case - they end up in the furnace of waste incineration plants, and in the worst case - in a landfill (landfill).
During research conducted by the Danish Ministry of Environment and Food, scientists found out that a paper bag is 40 times harms the environment more, and a cotton bag is 20,000 times more harmful than a plastic product (subject to the main condition - recycling).

A few more advantages in favor of plastic bags:
- due to the high price of oil - the main raw material for the production of plastic - industries that produce plastic work with a minimum amount of waste. In other words, the manufacturer optimally uses raw materials, reducing production waste to almost zero. While the production of paper and textiles always implies the presence of insoluble dry sludge, which is taken to the landfill;
- economy of logistics. The weight and volume of 1000 polyethylene bags is much less than paper and textile bags. Accordingly, more goods can be transported in one flight, which saves fuel and reduces the amount of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Quality packaging from Chernihiv Package Company LLC
In order to reduce the environmental burden from the use of plastic on the environment, it is necessary to use it correctly. You should not throw away a whole ball just because it is no longer needed at the moment. Take it with you the next time you go shopping. A twice-used polyethylene bag increases its environmental friendliness several times over paper and fabric. When the container becomes unusable, do not throw it away with household waste, sort the garbage.
Caring for the environment is important to us, so high-quality packages that can be ordered on our website will not tear after the first use.
The position of our company is conscious consumption, so we have launched a very high level recycling line. The quality of polyethylene is chic, glossy, smooth, but at the same time eco-friendly. We can safely say that such recycled plastic is rarely found in Ukraine, since the raw material itself is of very high quality, plus the process itself is set up perfectly.
